This week in 24/Seven
Each week we'll preview what you can expect in our 24/Seven print edition, out Thursday for you southern Brooklynites and Friday for the downtown neighborhoods.
Highlights include:
Theater: St. Ann's Warehouse's season comes to an end with Cynthia Hopkins' "The Success of Failure (or, The Failure of Success)." The show, making its New York premiere May 22, also marks another finale, this to Hopkins’ Accidental Trilogy, which began at St. Ann’s in 2004.
Music: Brooklyn-based pysch-rock band Hopewell offers some optimism during these tough times with the release of "Good Good Desperation." "Sometimes when things go bad, that can be the best time,” says lead singer Jason Russo. “In retrospect, it might appear good. You look back and realize, that time forced me to change.” The band has some changes in store themselves on their fifth album, out now on Tee Pee Records with a release party May 19 at Pianos.
Columns: We have three new ones for you from here on out in 24/Seven, including on cooking (Kitchen Klutz and The Reporter's Table) and on shopping (Pumps & Pleats). It's adventures in making apple cider chicken, a flavorful recipe for lemon bars, and a tour through the vintage offerings at Park Slope's City Casuals in this week's edition.
Art: A look at what's happening at the Brooklyn Museum the rest of this month, everything from turntables to Tutankanum.
