Local Correspondents Festival

Today through May 16, Park Slope plays host to a who's who of Brooklyn's indie music scene with a festival from Local Correspondents, a support network for independent artists.

More than 50 acts will take to singer-songwriter favorite Bar 4's stage, with festivities kicking off tonight. (If you're reading this now, you can still catch Paula Valstein, Kim Garrison, The Picture, Heidi Sidelinker, and Steve Waitt. Those Bar 4 gigs tend to go late into the night).

The rest of the festival sees such up-and-coming acts as Lowry on May 15 at 11:30 p.m. and Wakey! Wakey! on May 16 at midnight, and established local acts like Danny Ross on May 18 at 7:30 p.m.
