Brooklyn Bowl coming soon

Our Williamsburg Courier reports that the long-anticipated Brooklyn Bowl will be opening in the next one to three weeks, once the owners get the OK from the city.

The delays (Brooklyn Bowl was originally set to open late last year) allowed the owners to improve the floor−plan, which now includes more space for the restaurant, with food from NYC-chain Blue Ribbon, than originally envisioned.

The 16-lane bowling alley will also double as a performance venue, with a capactity for 600 (which should ease those waits at The Gutter).

Owner Charley Ryan describes the atmosphere for bowlers as similar to a VIP room.“It’s kind of an interesting inversion. It defies the image of bowlers as these ratty people,” he said.

With a bowling alley in Williamsburg, that's no surprise to us.
