Foodies unite tonight
Earlier this spring, the place to be for the Michael Pollan reading, locavore-identifying, Park Slope Coop shopping crowd was the Brooklyn Food Conference.
Tonight, it's definitely at the Bell House for the Brooklyn premiere of "Food, Inc.," a documentary by Robert Kenner, produced by Eric Scholosser ("Fast Food Nation"), and, what do you know, narrated by Michael Pollan, that explains how what we eat is more than just food, but an opportunity to change - or support, depending on which side of the fence you shop on - the current system of food production.
Part of Brooklyn Based's Drinks on the Doc film series, the night will also feature a Q&A with the director, moderated by film, food writer and Brooklyn Based editor Annaliese Griffin, as well as food from Roebling Tea Room and Sweet Deliverance before the film.
Seated tickets are already sold out for tonight's premiere, but you can still buy $10 standing-room-only tickets in cast at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m. The Bell House is located at 149 7th Street.
