Green light for comedy in Brooklyn

Between Big Terrific at Cameo, Tearing the Veil of Maya at Union Hall, and Hannibal Buress's comedy show at the Knitting Factory, there's some stellar comedy in Brooklyn.

Now add to that Steamboat at the Greenlight.

Starting this month, the Fort Greene bookstore will host a night of comedy writers, from the worlds of both print and audio/visual.

Kicking things off on January 21 are Josh Lieb, a “Daily Show” producer and author of “I am a Genius of Unspeakable Evil and I Want To Be Your Class President,” Tami Sagher, a writer for “30 Rock” and Brooklyn fav “Bored to Death,” and Fort Greener Gabe Liedman, host of VH1’s “Best Day Ever” and, look at that, one half behind Big Terrific (in more cross-breeding, Eugene Mirman, host of Maya, will be at Steamboat next month).

For a hint of what's to come, here's a recent interview with Josh Lieb and below, a clip of Gabe Liedman when he was at BAM this past fall:
