Friday, Nov. 12

Bedford-Stuyvesant: Gospel sounds at the Concord Baptist Church of Christ in this tribute concert.

Brooklyn Heights: Community theater company The Heights Players does a good show about a community theater trying to pull off a good show, in "Room Service." Also Saturday and Sunday.

Red Hook: Check out the bluegrass tunes of DA spokesperson Jonah Bruno at Jalopy.

Bushwick: It's Ziggy 'Starr' dust, at the Bushwick Starr presents puppet pieces inspired by the music of David Bowie. Also Saturday and Sunday.

Kensington: Bathing suit up and head to this Steamy Dance Party, in a Brooklyn banya.

Saturday, Nov. 13

Bushwick: By day, the neighborhood is filled with art performances, with the BETA Spaces festival. By night, film, as the Zero Film Festival kicks off at Nut Roaster Studios with a night of independent pieces and music.

Fort Greene: You've lived through the Atlantic Yards saga. Now see the play, "In the Footprint," from the investigative theater troupe The Civilians, running at the Irondale Center. Or, if you're more of a Kurosawa fan, head to the Brooklyn Academy of Music for "Throne of Blood," a stage adaptation of the masterful Japanese filmmaker's work.

Sunday, Nov. 14

DUMBO: It's the Ziegfeld Follies, but with a modern twist, during the Brooklyn Follies, a nice of dance spectaculars.

Williamsburg: Get your film of homemade pie during the Brooklyn Pie Bake-Off at Spacecraft.
