Annie Keating has gained fans all over the world for her honest, refreshing acoustic act, often found on the folk festival circuit. But to celebrate her new album, there’s nothing like playing in your own backyard.

On Nov. 10, the Park Slope mom-sician celebrates the release of “Water Tower View” with a show at Southpaw.

“The band’s never sounded better, and for the show we’ve got some special guests,” said Keating. “It’s going to be quite a celebration.”

With her gritty-yet-pretty tunes laid over careful plucking, Keating draws comparisons to other strong female acts such as Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch and Bonnie Raitt, as well as Willie Nelson. “Water Tower View” is her fourth album.

“It has a new sound that seems to be resonating with folks,” said Keating. “I’m optimistic and excited to see where the songs take us.”
