The Weekend: 10.8-10.10

Friday, Oct. 8

Park Slope: Sharon Van Etten brings her lovely, lovelorn songs to the Rock Shop.

Gowanus: Tonight and tomorrow, the Bell House turns into a soul funk heaven with the Brooklyn Soul Festival.

Prospect Heights: Check out the trippy art of Williamsburg artist Fred Tomaselli at the Brooklyn Museum.

Bushwick: It's Wagner on steriods when the Bushwick Starr presents "The Ring Cycle," an adapation of the classic opera starring WWF entertainers.

Williamsburg: See "Plan Nine From Outer Space!" at the Brick. The worst movie ever made gets adapted for the stage - and it's a good thing!

Saturday, Oct. 9

Greenwood Heights: "Angels and Accordions," a site specific dance performance, has its last run at the Green-Wood Cemetery. See it before it's gone for good.

Williamsburg: The Air Sex World Championships comes to the Music Hall of Williamsburg. You know you want to.

Park Slope: The Brooklyn Lyceum has all sorts of goodies at its fall market. Also tomorrow.

Sunday, Oct. 10

Midwood: Hop the Q or B train and head to Midwood - with our guide along for the ride - and spend the day in one of the borough's most bustling neighborhoods.
