Friday, July 9

Fort Greene: Meet Melanie Rehak, author of the latest in Brooklyn food writing, "Eating for Beginners," at Greenlight Bookstore, or get reacquainted with Cary Grant at BAM.

Park Slope: Lots to choose from tonight - all free! - from Ozomatli at Prospect Park, Great Elk at the LC Fest, and "Nocturnes" at the Old Stone House.

Greenpoint: The Underground Rebel Bingo Club takes over an undisclosed location.

Saturday, July 10

Park Slope: Head back to the Old Stone House for even more theater, with a performance of The Talent Family's "The Book of Liz."

DUMBO: It's the big day at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, with De La Soul headlining the outdoor concert.

Sunday, July 11

DUMBO: Take in the last game of the World Cup outdoors, under the Archway.

Park Slope: After the game, head to the Prospect Park band shell, for "Okay Africa," featuring the Roots.

Williamsburg: Talk about two extremes: The Giglio, a 100-plus-year-old tradition, returns to the neighborhood, as do the uber-hip "Pool Parties," with Deerhoof and Xiu Xiu headlining.
