Music: Passion Pit is slated to perform as part of the Celebrate Brooklyn festival this summer. But don't delay, tickets go on sale this week. Closer on the horizon, Bangstrum plays Southpaw February 6, and is comprised of friends who played in high school, lost touch, and, over 30 years later, have reunited. It's every wife's worst nightmare.
Art: MoCADA takes on a weighty issue in their latest exhibition, "The Gentrification of Brooklyn: The Pink Elephant Speaks,” opening February 4.
Cooking: The fourth annual Manischewitz Cook-Off is coming, and Brooklynites are urged to sign up by January 31.
Theater: Brooklyn's got a speakeasy on its hands, when the latest from aerial troupe Suspended Cirque comes to Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO February 5-6.

Music: The Antlers have had quite the year, on the road for most of it, but always returning home to Brooklyn. They play BAM as part of the Sounds Like Brooklyn festival February 5. Another band with a good 2009 was Here We Go Magic. They play Music Hall of Williamsburg January 29 in advance of their sophomore release. For less original fare, read about the Tribute Wars at Brooklyn Bowl that same night, with a Michael Jackson all-metal tribute band among the offerings.
Art: Jef Aerosol paints the walls in Eastern District's All Shook Up exhibition, opening January 29.
Magic: The Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture hosts a night of magic January 29, offering fun for the whole family.
Columns: Pumps & Pleats is back in Target for their Converse collection, while the Klutz, inspired by the Chicken Vera Cruz at MishMash Gourmet, a cozy eatery on Kings Highway, makes her own panini on the go, and The Reporter's Table grabs some pasta, canned tomatoes and fresh vegetables for a quick veggie pasta.

Dance: Williamsburg-based dance company STREB reach Olympic heights as they travel to Vancouver for the Winter Olympics' Cultural Olympiad.
Art: Musicians, poets, dancers, and other youth performers from New York’s most talented borough converge on IS 291 January 22 for the series “Real Bushwick/ Bushwick Real?” which promises something for everyone. On January 22,
Books: Laugh out loud at the Fort Greene bookstore Greenlight this month, as it kicks off its comedy reading series Steamboat January 21. At home, we test Food Network sensation Alton Brown's "Good Eats: The Early Years" and his All-Pantry Tomato Sauce.

Theater: With its New York Clown Theater Festival, the Brick Theater has become the destination for clown theater each fall. Now, it with its upcoming Fight Fest, December 4-20, the Williamsburg theater looks to do the same for another obscure performance genre: stage combat. Other stage antics in the neighborhood include The Montessori Circus Show, an avant-garde piece featuring aerialists, hula hooping, puppetry, wood chopping, baking, and some clowning thrown in for good measure, running December 3-5 and December 10-12 at the Bushwick Starr.
Dining: Park Slope's Vue Restaurant, found atop the Hotel LeBleu, has a very popular bar and lounge a flight above its neo-modern Miami-esque dining room. We take a look at the restaurant below and its innovative and very atypical bill of fare.
Music: All you need is love, and a ukulele, at the Second Annual Beatles Complete on Ukulele Festival December 5 at Brooklyn Bowl.

Film: “Before We Get to Seattle,” may be about a cross country road trip to Seattle, by way of New Jersey, but it was written, produced and filmed in Brooklyn by filmmaking team April Mosqus and Adam Linn.
Dance: Arelah Thompson is starting the footwork for a new dance studio in Brooklyn. Help her realize her dream through a benefit at Galapagos Art Space Nov. 29 featuring, of course, dance.

Music: Record label Slumberland celebreates 20 years of making music with a anniversary show November 14 at The Bell House in Gowanus, with some of its Brooklyn bands like the Pains of Being Pure at Heart on board for the show. In Williamsburg, Phonograph take it easy at Spike Hill, playing music off their new album "OKNO" November 12.
Comedy: SNL writer Hannibal Buress will bring the laughs to Knitting Factory each week, as he kicks off a weekly Sunday residency November 15.
Columns: Michele gets some cool kicks at Central Sports on Kings Highway for Pumps & Pleats, while the Kitchen Klutz breaks out the panini maker for her original Ham-key panini.
