Meet your maker — tonight!

Finally, here’s your chance to meet your maker.

Four tours tonight give a behind-the-scenes look at some of Williamsburg’s most-popular food stuffs, including purveyors of chocolates, beer, wine and coffee.

It’s all part of Eat Drink Local, a week-long celebration of locavorism, sponsored by Edible Brooklyn and including Brooklyn Brewery, Mast Brothers Chocolate, the Brooklyn Winery and Blue Bottle Coffee Roaster.

During the tour half-hour tour, you can meet with the masterminds behind the businesses, then head to an after-party at Brooklyn Brewery, where you can share your newfound knowledge with other food enthusiasts over snacks. Because in Brooklyn, foodieness is next to godliness.

More Brooklyn Lager in the works

While Brooklyn Brewery no longer has its sights set on Red Hook, it is poised to expand in its Williamsburg location.

Brooklyn Brewery founder Steve Hindy tells our paper, "“Support like this is vital to growing manufacturing jobs in New York City. These funds will enable us to complete a six-fold capacity expansion, adding 15 full-time jobs with benefits, and further expanding the Brewery’s green initiatives.”

It's all part of the brewery's $6.5 million expansion of its 79 N 11th St. space. The $800,000 grant from the state government will go towards converting 13,500 square feet of vacant distribution space into a fermentation facility, and increasing their production from 8,000 to a whopping 50,000 barrels a year. That's a lot of lager.

Cycling celebrations

May is Bike Month in New York City, and on May 20, Williamburg's Brooklyn Brewery will have its own Bike Night to benefit Braking the Cycle's AIDS ride in support of the HIV/AIDS services of The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center .

Live entertainment will come from Roger Kuhn, Morry Campbell and Terry Christopher - three of the featured artists on the new “United for the Ride” CD; with a special appearance by The Manhattan Prairie Dogs.

As part of this event the Brewery will be offering drink specials including $1 draft beers. The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Brooklyn Brewery, located at 79 N. 11th St.

May 31 will see another event for bike enthusiasts when the first ever Brooklyn Bicycle Jumble comes to JJ Byrne Park, an outdoor bicycle flea market.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., private, non-professional vendors will be on hand to sell bicycles, bicycle components, and clothing to the public.

The park is located on Fifth Avenue between 4th and 5th streets.
