This week in 24/Seven

Each week we'll preview what you can expect in our 24/Seven print edition, out Thursday for you southern Brooklynites and Friday for the downtown neighborhoods.

Highlights include:

Contest: Latkas lovers wanted. The Chabad of Mineola, which belongs to the worldwide Chabad, headquartered here in Crown Heights, is calling for contestants to participate in its first International Kosher Latke Eating Contest, to be featured during its 17th annual live Chanukah Telethon on Dec. 13.

Theater: Noël Coward’s “Brief Encounter” makes its New York premiere in Brooklyn next month, beginning its five-week run at St. Ann's Warehouse in DUMBO Dec. 2, with an official opening and party on December 6.

Food: For a pairing of good food and fine wines, head to Park Slope's Bussaco Restaurant/Bar.

Film: “Before We Get to Seattle,” may be about a cross country road trip to Seattle, by way of New Jersey, but it was written, produced and filmed in Brooklyn by filmmaking team April Mosqus and Adam Linn.

Dance: Arelah Thompson is starting the footwork for a new dance studio in Brooklyn. Help her realize her dream through a benefit at Galapagos Art Space Nov. 29 featuring, of course, dance.

Music: Party post-Thanksgiving with Chin Chin at Southpaw Nov. 27. Also on the bill are Miss Fairchild, Brooklyn Girls Soundsystem (featuring former members of Brazilian Girls), and The NotForNothins.

Columns: In the kitchen, the Klutz interns with Curioso Pizzeria in Williamsburg and the Reporter's Table warms up with squash soup (must be that time of year), while Pumps & Pleats gives some tips to the male readers with a stop in Karbon, a gentlemen’s boutique in Midwood stocked with trendy casual wear, trendy work wear and trendy club wear. Yes, trendy.
